Red States and Blue States seem to agree: an honor for someone in PURPLE makes sense.

A HUGE honor could be on tap for Prince in the coming weeks, as the congressional delegation of Minnesota has proposed giving a Congressional Gold Medal to Prince, now six years after his death.

“The world is a whole lot cooler because Prince was in it — he touched our hearts, opened our minds, and made us want to dance. With this legislation, we honor his memory and contributions as a composer, performer, and music innovator. Purple reigns in Minnesota today and every day because of him,” said Amy Klobuchar, Minnesota Senator and former Presidential Candidate.

This isn’t just a small plaque or medal; this is the honor that has been given to icons including Rosa Parks, The Wright Brothers, Harriet Tubman, George Washington, The Dalai Lama, and others.

The legislation is sponsored by both parties in Minnesota’s congressional delegation, and is likely to receive support on both sides of the political aisle.

Awfully ironic that Democrats (blue) and Republicans (Red) can agree – and come to a compromise when something is PURPLE.
