It’s a POOL PARTY Weekend!
The perfect playlist plus games!
The July 4th weekend is the perfect time to hit the pool! Throwback 2K has your POOL PARTY PLAYLIST so you can turn it up and chill with your friends!
We’ve also come up with a list of the 7 best pool party games – some are old favorites, many require little to no equipment, and several can be played by all ages!
#1 – Marco Polo. Is it even a pool game list if we don’t start with this one? One player closes their eyes and stands in the middle of the pool while counting to 10. The other players all fan out to various spots around the pool. The It player yells “Marco” and the other players must respond with “Polo.” The It player follows their voices and tries to tag someone.
#2 – Sharks and Minnows. The shark goes to one side of the pool and shouts “Sharks and Minnows, one two three, minnows, minnows, swim to me!” The minnows begin to swim from the other side of the pool. The shark tries to tag the minnows before they reach the wall on his side of the pool, which is base. Any minnow who is tagged becomes a shark.
#3 – Change Champion. Someone throws handfuls of coins to the bottom of the pool. Players swim around the bottom collecting the coins, but they can only get one coin per dive down. Once all the change is collected, count it up! Whoever has the most, wins!
#4 – H-O-R-S-E. This game requires a basketball net and it’s played exactly the same as on dry land. All players must take a shot from the same place. If you miss, then you earn a letter, spelling out the word H-O-R-S-E. After five missed shots, you are out of the game. The last player standing, wins!
#5 – Human Ring Toss. Take two pool noodles and tape together to form a ring. You may form as many rings as you wish. The rest of the players than stand in the pool in any formation they want: random, a triangle, etc. Each player tries to throw the giant rings at their friends. Friends who are farthest away are worth more points!
#6 – Ball Up. This one is so simple – the goal is to keep a beach ball in the air for as long as possible, and players can’t hit the ball two times in a row or they’re out.
#7 – Find the Bottle. Fill a clear water bottle – a plastic one with the label removed works nicely – and throw it in the water. It’s really tough to see – the challenge is finding it!
There you have it, 7 Pool Party Games to try this weekend while listening to Throwback 2K’s POOL PARTY PLAYLIST!
