A Megastar Will Appear In The Snoop Biopic

We told you about the new Snoop Dogg biopic a few months ago – now, we have new scoop!

Cynthia Erivo, the Tony, Grammy, and Emmy winner, who also starred in “Wicked,” has joined the film and will portray Tupac Shakur’s mother, Afeni Shakur. She was a Black Panther activist who had a strained relationship with her son. Tupac also famously sang about her in his hit “Dear Mama.”

Jonathan Daviss will play Snoop Dogg, and Camron Jones will play the role of Tupac. The film is currently shooting in southern California.

The biopic will explore Snoop’s rise during the 1990s to become one of the biggest names in rap music.

It’s slated for release in August 2027.
