BLACK HISTORY MONTH THROWBACK SPOTLIGHT: MJ, Oprah, and a LOT of questions.

Oprah's iconic interview with Michael Jackson first aired tonight on ABC in 1993.

As the 1980s turned into the ’90s, more and more people close to Michael Jackson noted odd, different behavior about how he interacted with his family, those in his inner circle, and those who he performed with.  In a 1993 interview, he sat down with Oprah to set the record straight about SO many things.

I remember being in middle school and watching this live with my parents.  I could tell, even at that young age, that Michael had his guard up as Oprah was not going to allow him to stand down on tough questions.  It’s a good piece of journalism on Oprah Winfrey’s part, and an insight into a very private, very troubled soul, who gave us SO much good music through the years.   I hope you enjoy giving it a fresh look nearly 28 years later.
